SHOW ALERT! Proof at Compass Rose

I am beyond thrilled to share some exciting news with you all! I am currently in rehearsals for my first professional play, Proof by David Auburn. This marks a significant milestone in my journey as an actor, as it is my first play since 2014. Stepping back into the world of straight plays, especially with such a profound and celebrated piece, has been an exhilarating experience.

The last time I performed in a play was over a decade ago, and the journey back has been nothing short of transformative. While I have explored various roles and genres over the years, participating in a straight play quite a rewarding feeling. The raw, intimate nature of Proof  has reignited my passion for storytelling in its purest form.

In Proof, I have the honor of portraying Catherine, a complex and deeply layered character. Catherine is a 25-year-old woman who has inherited her father's exceptional mathematical talent. However, she is also grappling with the fear of inheriting his "instability." Her journey is one of self-discovery, love, and the struggle to find her own identity amidst the shadows of her father's legacy.

Catherine's story resonates deeply with me. Her sacrifices, her fears, and her strength are elements that I find incredibly compelling. She gave up her life and education to care for her father until his recent death, a decision that speaks volumes about her character and resilience. Exploring her world has been both a challenge and a privilege.

As someone who primarily identifies as a musical theatre actress, this play is taking me out of my comfort zone. The shift from musicals to a straight play has been both challenging and enriching, pushing me to grow as an artist in new ways.

The show opens on January 17th and runs until February 9th. As we continue to work towards opening night, I am filled with gratitude and excitement. The journey of bringing Proof to life is a testament to the power of theater and the enduring impact of storytelling. I can't wait to share this beautiful play with all of you and hope that Catherine's story will resonate with audiences as deeply as it has with me.
