Bend and Snap into Something New: My Assistant Directing Debut

I’m beyond excited to share that I’m making my Assistant Directing debut—and it’s with a show that holds a very special place in my heart: Legally Blonde the Musical with The Arlington Players!

What makes this adventure even more meaningful is that I’m joining a production team that already feels like home. I’m reunited with the same creative team I worked with on Fun Home at Dominion Stage this past fall, and I couldn’t feel more supported. I’ve learned so much from them already, and stepping into this new role surrounded by familiar, talented collaborators makes the process all the more inspiring.

I’m especially thrilled to be working hand in hand with the brilliant Sabrina McAllister. We’ve discovered we’re the perfect yin and yang—her vision and leadership are so clear and creative, and together we’ve built such a dynamic rhythm in the room. It’s been a dream to collaborate this closely with her and bring Elle Woods' world to life.

On a personal note, this show is a full-circle moment for me. I was a proud Delta Nu back in 2013 and had the time of my life doing it. Legally Blonde is such a sparkly, feel-good spectacle on the surface, but underneath all the hot pink and high kicks, it carries such a powerful message about identity, resilience, and self-worth. Getting to help shape that journey from the other side of the table has been both nostalgic and incredibly fulfilling.

The energy, the comradery, and the sheer fun of this big cast are infectious. It’s a blast being in the room with so many passionate artists who are all working toward the same dazzling goal. Whether you’re a long-time fan of the show or brand new to Elle Woods’ story, this production is packed with heart, humor, and Delta Nu realness.
